I have a 2014 Silverado with the 5.3. Since plugging this in it stays in V8 mode all the time.
Seems to work well, the device installs very easily, but there are times when you have to take it out, like for emissions tests or to use a code reader. Otherwise, it does just what it's supposed to do. I believe the gas mileage has improved by a mile or two per gallon for short trips. Can't wait to see how it does when we take one of our cross country trips!
2018 Silverado est with the 5.3 engine. This thing so far has worked perfect. Keeps the truck in constant v8 mode and smoothed everything out, it's much better. Gas mileage went down some but this is worth the trade off to know you engine won't lose a lifter and a came. A+

They sent the wrong part initially. They corrected the problem and resent the right part in a timely manner. The AFM disababler works as expected. Truck seems to run much smoother.
Well for one make sure what you sell works, my afm doesn't that's it that's all
Product did not work. Put it in two different trucks and nothing. Unfortunately I threw box out before trying it. My bad.
Plugged it in caused 48 codes and the truck to become undriveable
Kills the battery within 10hrs if it stays plugged in. Drops it from 12v to 4.5 to 5.1 volts
So far so good. I put this on a 2015 Silverado I bought that has 220k miles with no ticking. I'm hoping this AFM disabler will keep it that way. So far shifting is smooth and it's staying in V8 mode.

So far so good can tell a difference in the power of the truck on take off haven’t been able to see how much difference it will make pulling my boat behind the truck
The unit for 2017 1 unit seems to work. second isn't installed yet and may not work.

After ordering and purchasing my new 2016 5.3 Silverado it began having issues with the AFM system. The truck became unbearable to drive as it would constantly be bogging itself down while driving and dropping and then adding cylinders. Chevrolet said it was supposed to be "seamless" and you would hardly notice it while switching from 8 to 4 cylinders and back and forth. Nothing further from the truth ! I was so Irritated with this system that I was ready to get rid of the truck. Then a mechanic friend told me about the AFM Disabler. As a last resort I purchased and Installed it. What a difference it's made in the drivability of my truck now ! Just plug it into the computer module under the dash and go. That Simple ! My truck now seems to have better acceleration, NO bogging down, and shifts through the gears much smoother .. and DOES NOT allow the Back and Forth cutting of cylinders like the AFM did. Gas mileage has stayed about the same (It's a truck) which was another plus for this little unit. I had heard though, that if you leave it plugged in for an extended period of time it could run your battery down. I've never done that, so I can't really comment on it. However, this disabler has saved me from getting rid of my truck (because of the AFM) and let's me enjoy the power of a V8 truck (the way it's supposed to be).
The AFM/DFM Disabler (AG003) is a good solution to address the Active Fuel Management and Dynamic Fuel Management functions in GM vehicles, specifically the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra equipped with the 5.3L engine
No more clunks or grinding. Smoother acceleration. Consistent power output. Sure gas mileage goes down, but you already knew it was going to do that since you are buying this product to remove the AFM 4-Cyl mode that GM has plagued us with that has been taking the lives of strong motors way too soon. Even better because this is just plug and play. No need to completely tear down your engines top end to install parts that, should you need to, are painful to uninstall to revert to stock. With this device, just plug into OBD2 port and drive away. If you are on the fence about this product, come on over to the side with greener grass. Your truck/SUV will thank you.

Works great as intended. Unsure about longevity because I have only been using for two weeks but seem to be built well. The lights are not bright like people complain about with some of the other brands.For the price this thing is awesome. V8 all the time on my 5.3 Chev Silverado. Trans shifts smoother and the Truck just drives better.
I like my Chevy. It tows our camper. It gets us through the snow and mud when we need it to. It is a comfortable ride.
I was not prepared for what a difference this thing made. No, I am not talking about suddenly getting more raw power and unleashing the beast of the 6.2L engine. For me, it was the sudden smoothness of every aspect of the engine and transmission. The engine ran smoother and was more even in its acceleration and deceleration. The transmission shifts were so much smoother and consistent. I have another Motor Mount going out, which is super common on these Denali, and the clunk I get when letting off the gas too quickly was suddenly a rare occurrence. The clunk was still there, but not nearly as often, and it was barely noticeable. I am now convinced that part of the issue with these models' Denali Motor Mounts going out so often is the AFM. As far as gas mileage, I am still testing that part. I did not notice any real difference yet, but I think you need to do a more long-term test to really notice any difference. Considering the gas mileage these things get, I am not too concerned unless it like 10 mpg less. Any tiny drop in mpg is a price I will pay for a better driving experience.
I've read many accounts of valvetrain failure stemming from failed lifters in engines with the Active Fuel Management system, so when I saw this module I decided to give it a try. Now that I have this and the engine remains in V8 mode all the time, I have some piece of mind that I may be able to avoid this problem in the future.
I put this on my wife's 2017 GMC Yukon Denali with the 6.2L motor with AFM. I wanted something to disable the AFM since this "feature" can really start being a problem once they hit over a 100K miles. This AG003 AFM/DFM Disabler does keep the computer from enabling the AFM/V4 mode. I haven't tested the delay on the fuel peddle directly, but I didn't notice it happen on a 120 mile trip with half of the miles in the city. Mileage does seem to have improved a bit for some reason. I expected to loose 0.5-1 MPG with using this device, but it seems to have increased about 0.5 MPG. I was fine with loosing a little bit of fuel economy for the longevity of the engine. I left this device plugged in to my OBD2 port for 3 days to see if it would draw down the battery. The Yukon had no problem starting, but this is with an AGM battery that is only 6 months old, so YMMV. Overall, I will purchase again for another vehicle with AFM.

it was easy enough to install. I am not very technical at all so I had to read the directions and then look online. im sure if you know what you are doing it would take no time. it came with clear instructions so that was a life saver. they say you can keep the factory ecy which was nice because I want to be able to just unplug it and go back to the factory settings without doing a bunch of stuff. they say it saves the life of the AFM so we will see over time. I never had to replace one but it's nice to know they advertise saving anything.
The 'workaround' that I used while we were driving prior to the warranty repair was to put the transmission in 7th gear which kept the engine running on 8 cylinders.
I recently decided to give my Buick LeSabre a bit of an upgrade with the AFM/DFM Disabler 2024 New AG003, and wow, what a difference it has made! I ordered this for a vehicle that disables cylinders to supposedly save fuel. I have never believed it to really be a useful feature and have always wanted to do away with it. There are several different options to delete this, but this was the simplest. Just plug it in to your ODBII port and have all your cylinders, as well as all the power, all the time. I was very cautious in my selection because there are so many things that can go wrong when you go messing with the computer system of any vehicles. This one has the best rating, and I wasn’t able to locate anything major wrong in regard to this system. I plug it in and have not had a single issue since. I am very pleased with my choice of this disabler and can recommend it to anyone looking to take back control, and power, of this poorly though of and implemented piece of garbage that caused more issues than it solves.
